The first staff member I interviewed at the BPAS clinic in Bournemouth was the treatment unit manager, Amanda Ewels.
Amanda has worked for BPAS since 2012 and has recently taken on this role at the Bournemouth clinic.
Originally starting her career off as practicing to become a midwife, Amanda discovered about half way through her training that it wasn't the right job for her.
However, she had a passion for working in a role which helps to support women and support choice for women.
During my interview with Amanda I asked her if she had always had a pro-choice view from the beginning or if it was one she formed later on in life. Her reply was:
"I don't think I had strong views when I was younger, but as you go through life and you grow and you go through experiences yourself with having children, you kind of get an understanding. Not everybody's view is the same but we should all respect each others choices and it was just nice to be able to be in a position to support women who've got to make a difficult choice."
Amanda made it clear throughout her interview that she supports freedom of speech and respects that everyone has different opinions (especially when it comes to abortion), but does not agree with protesters standing directly outside the clinic and forcing their opinions onto other people.
You can hear more of what Amanda said in my documentary.
